End of the year lolita challenge (2/4)
8. Never worn
Due to circumstances (aka everything being currently packed into moving boxes in a place I can’t visit for longer than three minutes at a time) I’ve got a plenty:
- Magic Tea Party Moon Castle Embroidery jsk
- Hinana Queena Moira op x 2
- Restyle Cemetery skirt in purple & gray (x2)
- Infanta Love & Canary jsk
- Angelic Pretty Victorian Tassel jsk
- Ventovir/Will of the Forsaken Rose op
9. Casual
It doesn’t get more casual than what I wore to our pre-Christmas meetup couple of weeks back. There is only a blouse, a jsk, tights, shoes, a wig and a bow, and the makeup is really very simple. This certainly wasn’t the plan. 😀
10. Favorite brand
Angelic Pretty! I mean the OLD Angelic Pretty. Those dreamlike pieces are still to die for (just look at my answers from January) but these latest ones… meh. For practicality and ease on the wallet (plus the sizing/cut suits me well) I will say Infanta. Never to forget Ventovir (Will of the Forsaken) & Illves, both of them Finnish designers/brands.
11. Roses
I like flowers but I’m not huge on them in lolita, apparently! Nothing against them, of course. My only even remotely rose-inspired coord was the one for Hellocon 2016, the event’s theme being the Rose Garden. I wore a Bodyline jsk, pvc leggins, a Lip Service pvc bolero/shrug, Dolls Kill platform shoes and a MintyMix wig with addition of a pearl crown, bows and huge roses on top of my head! My shoes & ring bear roses as well as did Atte’s top hat – (he had Lip Service shirt as well) not to mention my white lace parasol, covered with pastel roses that actually lit up! The guest of honor that year was Baby the Stars Shine Bright.
I might have more, but for now I counted two dresses and two skirts with roses (there are smaller ones in others but not as much as ”the main attraction”). You can follow the links to see a coord with each.
- Sniffs the Rose Afternoon Tea Nostalgia jsk
- Angelic Pretty Lady Rose Back Frill jsk
- Bodyline high waisted skirt in red
- Bodyline other skirt in red
12. Cats
At first I thought this was a hit and miss… but it weren’t! In a promised land of lolita & eternal cat prints, my ONLY two things are AP novelty towel that everybody got from attending Witches’ Follies aka WTF aka Hellocon 2019. And for the Moon Castle from the question number 8 – I think there lurks a cat somewhere? So, yay? 😛
13. Teddy bears
Well, easy! But why are the answers always so that one dress is maybe in three categories while the others are completely left out? WHY? 😀 I bet there’s something wrong with my wardrobe!
The Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Teddy Bouquet Gobelin JSK (which also is one of my oldest dresses and I’m going to love it to threads) is an obvious answer to this! I don’t know why, but when I Am fleamarketing (and I do it often) I occasionally (more than once) bump into a gobelin bear purses/handbags (either actual vintage/vintage-ish, grandmother-style) and I’m always tempted to buy them just for this dress! 😀 It goes from bear(iness) to chocolatecake(ness) so easily! 🙂
14. Hats
Hat’s are just making their appearance to my lolita life! I have a love for bonnets & tiaras (and yes, still, to ponytail-wigs) so for a long time I felt I have no need for hats. When beautifully executed & carried they are a gorgeous part of any outfit, but I’m harboring them for later – as we age we need something new, and for me hats are the perfect answer to where to change my ponies when maturing 😀 For handbags & shoes as well, I’ve only collected those for a few years now. Naturally hats go perfectly with young persons too, it’s just that I need something to look forward to!
