A piece of history with a spatter finish that was visible in all the best places.

The molded ceramic spittoon has a cylindrical shape with faceted sides and top. It is glazed with a thick brown and cream spatter and drip glaze. The glaze is soft, shiny and unctuous. It has a hole on one side for cleaning and a hole in the center of the top to use. The base and raised foot are glazed.

There are no hallmarks or labels.

MEASUREMENTS

9 ½” (24.1 cm) diameter x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) tall. Weighs 3 lbs 7.5 oz (1575 g)

CONDITION

There are cracks on the top surface that run to the center hole. There are two larger chips and several smaller ones on the rim. There is also a chip to the foot.
