The Paso del Norte Health Foundation has officially opened nominations for its next class of REALIZE Executive Leaders, a training program that helps industry professionals across the Borderland become "transformational leaders to benefit the region's health," the foundation announced Monday.

REALIZE Executive Experience, a training and mentorship program sponsored by the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, is soliciting nominations for its next cohort of 20 Borderland professionals, who will build upon and refine their existing leadership qualities to better serve their organizations and the community at large.

The program -- which takes place every two to three years -- is 10 months long and includes one-on-one work with an executive coach, two off-site experiences, six learning sessions with leadership experts, assessments and networking opportunities.

Since its inception in 2010, the program has graduated more than 100 people who have gone on to become nonprofit executives, CFOs, COOs, school district leaders, chief nursing officers, academic deans and more.

“It was an amazing opportunity to come to a better understanding of the potential that I have as a leader. It helped me move the needle on reaching that potential,” said Cathy Gaytan, Chief Executive Officer of El Paso Child Guidance Center and a REALIZE Executive 2015-2016 Cohort 3 member. “If you’re looking to grow in your leadership abilities, and if you’re looking to understand more about yourself and maximize your potential as a leader, then this is a wonderful opportunity to do so.”

Nominations for the sixth REALIZE Executive cohort are open until April 19.

To nominate a leader for the program, email their name, email address and a brief statement about them to REALIZE@pdnhf.org.

The REALIZE program is dedicated in honor of Robert H. Hoy, Jr., a founding board member of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation.

According to the foundation, Hoy's leadership, support and advocacy, and role as a leader and mentor to countless young leaders are among his many outstanding contributions to the health and well-being of the region.

The REALIZE program thus honors and furthers Hoy’s legacy.
