After more than two years of the Covid pandemic, many of us seem to have gotten used to the lockdown routine. We are closely connected to the Internet all day long, with zoom classes and online socializing. In such a difficult situation, there is always a force that motivates us to go forward, so I think it is necessary to record and imprint this special and difficult period for us all in our hearts. This is why I decided that this year’s theme will be Covid & Zoom, because no matter how far we are, our hearts will be tightly connected, which is also the meaning of the yearbook’s name - 6 feet together. These dark clouds are passing and we are slowly returning to our beautiful world.

Dear Hungry Hippos!!! I wanted to thank all of you for the memories and experiences we shared together at Woodstock and virtually through Zoom and Distance Learning! It was unfortunate we did not get an opportunity to make one more memorable advisor night in-person, but I’m thankful for the 1 ½ years we did have together at Woodstock and the memories we made in 9th and 10th grade!

There are three things I’d like to leave you with, hoping at least one will touch your heart and maybe guide you!

Ananyashree is ethically and morally robust. With an eye for detail, she is gradually metamorphosing into an ideal perfectionist. Her comforting smile even during the most turbulent situations instills our confidence in her Keyaevery-time.isavery sincere, genuine and an unfeigned person. This idea student combines an insatiable thirst for knowledge with an unfaltering work ethic. She has the ability and character to go all the way in life.
Vir, an excellent academician, is also a football player. A quiet person who has qualities and talents people do not know about. Sharp and perceptive, Vir is, at the same time, a warm and affectionate person. His calm and quiet, steady personality and demeanour means that he will always be a reassuring presence. I am convinced that he will be a pillar of any community in which he lives and works.
Rahul Kapadia is someone who is absolutely committed to learning irrespective of the challenges there might exist. This kind of commitment to learning will ensure that he ends up understanding the way the world into a person who was guided by a genuine and deep sense of what was right. A person of great self-belief, she saw a bigger role for oneself in life’s scheme of things than simply pursuing personal aims.

It has been a pleasure getting to know each one of you individually and I will always fondly remember you all as my first advisory group at Woodstock. Even though we did not meet in person, I am glad we found ways to connect with each other. I instantly felt a part of school and thanks to each one of you. You guys are the best! I wish that the ‘magic of life’ always enlivens all of you. Steve Jobs said Your time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life, Don’t be trapped by Dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other people’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
Nehi Malla has courage, tenacity and will power. She has been a true survivor, someone who can fight back against all odds. She has coped very well with adversity and has both talent and ambition. She has the ability to set priorities and stay focussed; this will hold her in good stead throughout life.
Luke is outspoken and is particular about voicing his opinions. Adaptability and compatibility are great traits that help him get along with others. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.I have always marvelled at his endless energy and enthusiasm.
Rahul Bhawnani gentle in his manners and warm hearted, Rahul endeared himself to all with a sunny smile.
Meto Seldon aka CC’s enthusiasm and cheerfulness was infectious - a lovable individual, who will be sorely missed. Forever courteous, even in her 12th grade, she retained her child like freshness- a rare attribute indeed. There was never a dull moment when CC was around.
Xinyue, a wonderful human being with a golden heart. She has compassion, and is a sincere and kind person. She will be remembered for her immense contribution to the Yearbook team. I joined Woodstock in 2019 and in the first meeting with my group, I was welcomed with gratitude. I realized the connection between us from that moment and I never faced any difficulty in making connections with my students. I really appreciate their involvement, support, and care for each other. I spent amazing time with them in the school and enjoyed every moment with them. The experience of interacting with them is exceptional and helped me in knowing them better. Whichever category you’re in, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you, I suppose. It would’ve been better if you all had spent your entire high school lives here at Woodstock, but the world threw all of us a curveball. Most of you have dealt with this reality relatively well. Others, I don’t know, maybe you’re still waiting for something or someone to motivate you to live. And here’s the problem with waiting: Life goes on as you wait. You miss experiences as you wait. Do you remember ever saying something like, “I can’t wait for X?” X can be anything: I can’t wait to turn 18. I can’t wait to be a senior. I can’t wait for this semester to end. I can’t wait for the pandemic to end. I can’t wait for college decisions to be made. And then … those things happened (well, except for Covid and, for some of you, maybe college decisions, but you get my point).
Hello, advisees. It’s almost here. Graduation. And then, life after high school.
Despite and through it all, life went on and things turned out OK and now you’re just waiting for something else. In the meantime, think of all the things you’ve missed. Those of you who came back in November, I think it was worth it. There were new friends. Class nights. Christmas cookies. Long walks and longer talks. You changed. I think I’m about to hit my word limit, so I’ll end with a final word of advice: Stop waiting. Start living in the present. Take care, and maybe we’ll connect again at some point in the future. I can’t wait.

When I first joined Woodstock I had my doubts about the whole boarding school experience and was very homesick. However, joining that school was one of the best decisions I’ve made and the time I spent there is something that I will think of fondly in the future. All of the people I met, the friends I made and the experiences I had over the years make Woodstock unique to me. If I could go back to 8th grade and start all over again, I would, although I would do a few things differently. But I guess you can only do high school once. For my three roommates from the beginning; Jo, Jack and Jae, we had some really fun times over the years and you three became like brothers to me. I hope that we all get a chance to see each other again before we graduate. Going to bazaar and up to the gym every weekend with you all gave me some of my most fun memories of Woodstock. All of the nonsense that we did in dorms and all the times Jack would fight with Mr Suman in the night were really fun. I hope all of you do well in the future, I will miss all the fun times we had together and all our room conversations. David; I don’t even know what to say to you, playing footy in Ridgewood with Luke was fun. I hope no one ever sees our ig conversations and we should be safe, hope you do well in college. Luke, we had some damn good fun in dorms with Raghav and Yondhen, playing football with you was too funny. All the times we met outside of school in the last two years have been good fun, see you soon. You’re one of the most thoughtful people I know and somehow manage to do a hundred things at the same time while being great at procrastinating. Rewa; idk what our Spanish grades would be like without each other, fun being SAC rep with you. Nehi; even though you joined quite late advisor nights were fun, good luck becoming a lawyer All the others that I got to know better at school last semester, it was fun hanging out with y’all, hopefully, Mr Nandu; can make some more predictions about our lives from our paintings. As for all the others I could not mention by name, I am actually running out of time to submit this but know that I will miss all of you. Looking back on my time at Woodstock, I will miss all the great memories I made over the years; all the class nights, advisor nights, goalathons and swishathons, just the thought of having to graduate and never being able to spend a night in dorms with my friends makes me sad. I will miss huddling around the heater in the lounge, watching Manchester United play on the weekends and running up to school with mere minutes to spare. But I can say that I at least tried to make the most of my time there, and met some amazing people and had some really good times.”I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them.”
Mom, Dad: Thank you for sending me to Woodstock. While I may have wanted to come to Woodstock myself, I know through the years I wasn’t the easiest to handle. Through the crying, yelling, fighting, and everything else, you were always there for me. You have stood by me my entire life and I love you both more than I can say. Loser: Without you, I don’t think I would’ve been here after like the first month. I know I have bothered you a lot in the past, but I think you are making up for that now. Thank you for supporting me through everything and always being there. Sukhman: Well, we graduated. Through the years, you have been a very important part of my life. We have had ups, and downs, you have hung me upside down, but through all of that, you have been like a big brother to me. The two months in South Africa were literally beyond words, but I don’t think it would’ve been as fun without you there. Taruna: It is only fitting I put you with Darsh, after all the times he was missing was with you only. You have been through the Qismat songs and that’s saying a lot. 7 years is a lot of time, honestly, I didn’t think I could tolerate you for this long, but I think it went fine. I just have one request, please don’t be so fixed. Adapt a little, change a little, and most importantly, listen before you scream. All things considered; it was really fun but I sure as hell won’t do it again. Ishpuneet: To be very honest, I forgot your name wasn’t Pushpa for a while there. You are the reason we all have such a low bar for jokes. No one can crack lamer jokes than you, but no one’s laugh is as funny as yours. You have been the most innocent kid in the group since day 1 but I don’t think that applies anymore. It has been a while, but can you please sing for us again one of these days. We have been through a specific time in our lives that both of us would rather forget, but that was the time we really bonded. Mr. Ansari: I know I haven’t been in your class for a while, but it was really fun being taught by you. Cycling and Hindi were always more fun when you were there. Mr. John: You made me run a lot in PHE. It’s a different story that all of that fitness and stamina were gone during quarantine, but thanks to you I know I have that potential. Mr. Negi: I am really thankful that you taught me badminton, I couldn’t have asked for a better coach. YOu were with me through every step of badminton and life, and I am glad to have you as a part of my Woodstock journey. Mrs. John: Varanasi was one of the most memorable trips of my life. Woodstock, I’ve spent 15 years of my life here. I’m honestly lost as to what to write because all I’ve ever really known is Wood stock, everything has always been, right here. So it’s odd to know this chapter of my life is coming to an end. But, I know that it will never really be “over”, the memories will always remain, and here they are: Ecp & KG - Plastic pots and pans, Jolly Phon ics books, that tiny little bathroom, Show and Tell, daycare—Veggie Tales and Matilda, handmade leather sandals, Edgehill open houses, treasure hunts, The Rainbow Fish. Grades 1 to 2 - Friendship Club, the “back playground”, assembly in the Quad Aud— and an indescribable enthusiasm for “I’ve got peace like a river” (forever ingrained in my brain), class nights and dark room, The Shoemaker and The Elves, packed lunches at Flag Hill, Grooveshark and the computer lab’s broken headphones, that colorful parachute, bible verses on a safety pin, striped faces at Char Dukan, the gorilla in the library, pink and purple crosses.
Grades 3 to 4 - Grilled cheese sandwiches and birthday parties, Fruit of the Spirit (I can never forget the lyrics even if I tried to), my pink diary, Four Square, Narnia at Hanifl, fallen railings and fireflies on the Eyebrow path, a sleepover in the gym nastics room, fairies and pipe cleaners, failed attempts at treehouses, book fairs and Thea Stilton, that space behind the lockers, skirts on jeans, capture the flag, Just Dance to Call Me Maybe, carved letters on a tree trunk, a halo in a vacuum cleaner.
Grades 5 to 6 - A brochure on Haiti, navy-blue carpet, Clocktower pizza, bean jars, socks + slippers+monkeybar = a bad idea, a pencil box covered in pencils, a goat’s heart, a cherry blossom who messed up her lines, bags full of seashells, ripsticks and spray paint, crushed noodles at the swimming pool, dozing of on burning black tiles, the leap from a wall to a godown roof, a small bottle of attar, a secret bridge, a locked door and an umbrella painting.

Grades 9 to 10 - A pouch full of jewelry at the gym, shared wasabi and pumpkin seeds, shivering while sleep ing on a window bench, a box full of cinnamon rolls, drenched tents and a burned blanket, jumping of a bridge and walking around a cave, a summer spent wearing name tags, melted chocolate as hot cocoa, shops on top of a mountain, ginger candy in study halls, Corpse bride and a compliment. Grades 11 to 12 - Stress, vanished walls, new faces, harsh voices, change. But a reliable Winterline, long bike rides, powdered trees, three nights with falling stars, and a few surviving monuments. Raymond likes reading books and he would always ask for a new book whenever his dad travelled. He started reading age of two, enjoyed watching cartoons: Tellie Tubbies, Power Puff Girls etc. and played outdoors with friends from neighbouring families, Anderson Jere (Malawi) was his best friend. Raymond was quick to grasp his second language English as compared to his mother tongue Tumbuka at such a tender stage finds peace and easiness communicating in English. Raymond is a true global citizen who has been exposed to diverse cultures.
