My go to spot for anything Italian! This place is amazing; from hand made pastas, to sandwiches, to premade meals, you name it. Monica runs an amazing place. It's not uncommon to be offered some bread, meat, cheese or wine while you are shopping. Their pasta and meatballs are some of the best I've ever had. And Monica will give you recipes, cooking tips, you name it. If you are in the area, stop by and grab some meatballs, lasagna or some bucatini. The picture is my go to recipe from there: bucatini with robusto sauce and pork and beef meatballs.

Called to order sandwiches. Woman on the phone rudely said they haven't sold sandwiches since before Covid. Meanwhile, they definitely have and also please take the sandwich menu off your website if you haven't sold them for 4 years??

Ok the cutest little hidden gem ever!!! Does not look like much from the outside but it's beautiful on the inside. Lots of kitchenware, decor, a deli, and lots of italian groceries. We stopped in to get some charcuterie items - prosciutto, salami, cheese and crackers. The meat was sliced fresh and the service was very friendly.

I was there this past Sunday for the 4th time. As per usual, they were out of the ravioli advertised out front.
While waiting to order, I witnessed one of the owners assistants excuse herself to the rear of the building in order to make a customers Tonno sandwich. Apparently the owner is allergic to tuna and had a bit of a fit that her help would even dare to open a can of fish near her.
I watched as this girl went to the rear doorway, opened a folding chair, knelt down like a catcher, opened a jar (more likely a can) of tuna and finished a customers sandwich in what I'm guessing was NOT an approved food preparation area. GROSS
As if the stale ciabatta they serve sandwiches on wasn't enough, they actually make your food on portable furniture that probably isn't sanitized! Neat-o!
Speaking of sandwiches, if you're naive enough to believe that their sandwiches are anything more than stale bread with run of the mill Italian cold cuts, than you're also dumb enough to pay $12 for one. There is nothing special about them.
Trying to stay positive I decided to order one of their lasagne for dinner as the woman in front of me purchased the final 2#'s of rigatoni they had. I was stuck trying to decide what to eat knowing that I may receive something made on a dusty table in the rear of the store.
I hope the chick that bough that rigatoni and sauce had better luck than I did with the lasagne. Because what they sold me was garbage. Look, you want to act like this joint is somehow genuine Italian because it's quaint and located in a bougie area, that's cool. But you're dumb. Most of what they offer is easily acquired stuff without the 200% mark up.
Educate yourself and then shop elsewhere.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Thomas
I apologies for my late response but I don't regularly check my Yelp.
I was disappointed to read that you had such a bad experience at my market.
I would like to address each issue one by one.
Each Sunday I arrive here Before 5:00am and personally hand make over 400 ravioli. I wish that I could make more but it is just not physically possible. This is why we suggest that you call ahead to hold your order.
As you may have notice that day we were very short handed. In this challenging period it is difficult to hire. As you stated I have an airborne allergy to fish. Normally I leave the market while it is being made. There was no way that I could leave at that time as there was a store full of customers and only the 2 of us working. And yes, my employee should have explained that a Tonno could not be made at that time but it was after the fact so I asked her to make it away from me so that I could continue to help others.
As to your review of our sandwiches, I am confused. I don't see that you ordered a sandwich of which is made on fresh ciabatta with imported Italian meats and cheese handmade to your special requests upon ordering.
Finally, as to the lasagna that is made with thin layers of fresh house made pasta and sauces, of which we can not make fast enough, as they also sell out similar to the ravioli, I wish that would stop back in and I would be happy to refund your purchase.
In conclusion I as a women I would ask that you do not refer to my females customer as a "chick".
It is degrading.

Based on the website information, I dropped in to order a few sandwiches. I actually called just before I left home to order ahead. No one answered the phone, so I assumed they must be busy. To my surprise, when I arrived at the store it was empty (zero customers). After inquiring if I could order a few sandwiches, I was informed that they have NOT been serving sandwiches for SIX MONTHS. It would be nice if the store could update their website/menu so people looking for sandwiches can go elsewhere.

A week after coming back from Italy, I was just craving authentic amatriciana, but couldn't find a single restaurant around me that made it the right way: with guanciale (NOT pancetta).
I decided to make it on my own, and I ran into another issue: almost none of the Italian markets around here carry guanciale!
Finally, Yelp led me to Primi Piatti, which is small but extremely well-stocked. Not only did they have my coveted guanciale, but they also had some amazing fresh bucatini, pecorino romano, and a variety of tomato sauces.
Their ingredients were exactly what I needed to make some delicious, authentic bucatini all'Amatriciana.
Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is they accidentally (I hope) overcharged me for the guanciale. Originally, I asked about the price for a whole piece they had, but eventually I asked them to only cut up 2/3 of that piece for me. When I got home, I noticed on the receipt that they charged me for the full piece. Disappointing, but probably an honest mistake.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Minerva Alicia T.Mountain View, CA0207Feb 1, 2023

Had a craving for a salami sandwich. I had no idea that Promo Piatti added magic to their sandwiches. Amazing!
