Finally managed to snag myself a hand-painted original CEL of one of these reptilian beauties from The New Adventures of Flash Gordon.
For those who don't know, this was an old (1978-80) Filmation toon and featured these buxom lizard women of Mongo, who held the prisoners of the cobalt mines in terror with their whips and extreme cleavage. (Well, mostly the former as the slaves usually went blind... probably from seeing so much of the latter!)

LOVE those girls. Sucks buying the movie is impossible to find. Only available on youtube but, thats only on burrowed time until youtube copyrights it. xI
Oh, you mean the original 1978 movie? It was as far as I know, sadly never released anywhere. Not even VHS tape. That one on youtube is a TVrip from some old VHS recording. The show however, was released on DVD - twice, actually. Took me long years to hunt down the 4-DVD Collector's Edition which has not only Season 2 too, but a lot of extras (I posted the design sheet of the lizzies before from that one).
I do wish they released the movie too, but seeing how obscure the show is, unlike Masters of the Universe, Bravestarr and other well-known Filmation stuff, chances of that are low. Probably it also doesn't help that Hitler appears in the movie, as Ming makes an allience with nazi Germany briefly in the movie! Btw, the movie is far less kid-friendly - some of the lizard ladies and Ming's soldiers get killed by the slave revolt, or vaporized by laser beams, unlike in the show where enemies usually just run away or are knocked out. The show's first 6-8 episodes is basically an expanded version of the movie, but with a lot of scenes cut and a lot more added.

Yeah I saw the shows episodic take on the movie and its was poor. Cut ALOT out of the lizardwomen. x<
Especially the curious and cute gal who seemed to have the hots for Flash.
Stupid Thun had to ruin the moment with the (unfounded) rumors that they eat human flesh...

Damn, well, was bound to happen. I have it downloaded if you need it.
Thanks! There'll be a few more CELs uploaded later.
Kinda - I only had vague memories of the show frankly when I started drawing, but they were pretty influential on my lizard face style later on, as the show shows them from every angle.
LOL first the Soviet union hammer and sickle, now Che Guevara, you are becoming a communist Nuru-Sama or what is going on with your avatars?
Cool, looking forward to it!
Ah and here I thought your avatar is the Sorceress from Diablo II. But I realize now she has black hair, not red.
Nah no worries - I am just not a big fan of communism, seeing as how it ruined most of my family's lives. Not many people here in Central/Eastern Europe who actually lived through it are fans of it, but it is "trending" hard in the USA nowadays, and to be frank, it kinda pisses me off. These people never actually lived under a real dictatorship and they have no idea what they are really wishing for.

Talk about a collectors priceless gift, to think you'd own an art piece back in the day from those cartoons, you're really looking up to seek anything that could be furry related huh? I admire your devotion to seek it.
Oh yeah, I am always on the lookout for such memorabilia. But generally they go for far more than what I'd spend on them (like, over 150$ or more). I got lucky and grabbed a few for 20-30$ here and there. So far I mostly have CELs and sketches from Flash Gordon, Animalympics, The Adventures of T-rex (reminds me, need to scan those) and Mummies Alive. Really hoping someday I can grab a CEL of Jadru the super obscure sexy cat witch from the Ewoks toon... that show is only available in terrible quality VHSrips. Some CELs of her exist as someone showed them off on her homepage once, frankly it's the best source for coloring her so far, LOL.
Daaaayum~ Alright! I’ll definitely look forward to see what else you’ll get your hands on!
Thanks! I got several more since then. Need to post those as well.
