We have a very nice 1996, Duett, on offer. The car has been fully restored and mechanically overhauled at some stage and still presents very well. We rarely come across this kind of quality in these cars. So if you are in the market for a contemporary Swedish mode of transport, this could be the one for you.

The bodywork is in good shape. The panelwork is neat and aligns nicely. The respray was done properly and bar a few blemishes still holds up very well. The car has its original steel rims shod in the correctly sized Michelin tyres. It is quite obvious this car was never thrashed considering its excellent presentation. Cars used as business vans from the start would not have survived their ordeal. The two-tone paintwork, the original Volvo mudflaps, the sunvisor and the roof rack all form great iconic embellishments and add to the car’s appeal.

On the inside, the car also looks wonderfully maintained as it has benefitted greatly from a full reupholstery. The car’s interior was designed to be utilitarian and as such is rather spartan. The comfortable seats have grey vinyl upholstery and the boot space trim is neat and tidy. The dashboard is well organised and the controls have been perfectly maintained.

The Volvo in this case has a 1.8 litre, 4-cylinder, single carburettor engine producing 75 Ps. The longitudinally placed engine drives the rear wheels. The 4-speed manual makes light work of the not overly heavy all-rounder. The mechanics have been fully overhauled so that both engine and transmission run extremely well. The brakes and suspension are more than able to do their jobs and support the way the car drives pleasantly.

This Volvo also has a good deal of documentation. It is contained within two files with material relating to its restoration and overhaul, photos and general car information. This is one very nice Volvo Duett in a condition you won’t often see.
