An early morning subway ride in NYC's Queens turned violent when a passenger assaulted a man who had fallen asleep on his shoulder. The incident took place around 5:30 am on a northbound F train nearing Forest Hills 71st Avenue station.

The attacker was dressed in a grey T-shirt with the American flag imprinted on it. He wore sunglasses and a baseball cap and attacked the 27-year-old man who had dozed off on his arms.

The confrontation escalated into a physical fight which was caught on camera and has since gone viral. The attacker, speaking both Spanish and English, lashed out at the sleeping man and his friend. The situation became violent when the sleepy passenger whispered a response, prompting the assailant to elbow him in the face multiple times, knocking him almost unconscious.

A man, who appeared to be a friend of the victim, dressed in a Hawaiian shirt, retaliated by throwing punches at the attacker. The fight ended when the train arrived at the station and the victims disembarked, leaving the aggressor on the train.

The victims reported the incident to the police at the 112th precinct, half a mile from the station. An assault complaint has been filed against the unidentified attacker. The victim refused medical assistance and his friend reported no injuries. The police are still searching for the attacker.
