The holy grail!! The Ferrari “Big 5”!!! COLLECTORS: you can own this collection with no cash out of pocket. How? If you have an existing collection, you can post $20M of cars as collateral (don’t worry, you can keep and use your cars still) and Sothebys Financial Services can lend you $10M. We can also lend you $10M on the value of the Big 5 lineup. Without selling securities or scrounging up the cash, you can acquire the holy grail — the Big 5 — all with some fancy financial footwork. Vrooom vroooom!!

As a specialist motor underwriter, I like to keep up to date with what's happening in the motor market. It appears the production of new cars is continuing to stall, with many people still waiting months for their new cars to be delivered, or having limited choice on certain models, spec, etc. As a result, the second-hand motor market is thriving both for modern and classic vehicles. I found this interesting article - the most expensive cars sold in 2022: https://lnkd.in/e7dBhRQB. Don’t know about you, but my favourite is naturally the most expensive - the beautiful Mercedes 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe pictured here. £115m? maybe a little out of my price range. Failing that, I would love to get my hands on the Ferrari 250 GT SWB - simply stunning don't you agree? I can see how these iconic cars have influenced modern car design - it's a shame new electric cars dont have the same individuality.... Which would you choose...? Do you think the classic car market will grow or shrink as the Electric revolution takes hold? #mostexpensivecar2022 #motorinsurance #classiccar #cars #classiccarauctions #ers

Art, watches or wine? No, the best investments are in the #classiccars which have the price rises last year 25%, the strongest finish for nine years, and 185% rises for the last ten years. Highest price example of classic car sold in 2022 - 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR "Uhlenhaut Coupé", €135,000,000 EUR , Sold by SOTHEBY’S Auction in 2022. Thanks to Nikita Nebylitsky, who writes about car restoration; according to him, so far the ticket to the classic car market is relatively inexpensive for the price of a VW Golf with a growth potential of 3-4 times over 10 years. Strong results across the board and several world records for RM Sotheby's 'White Collection' auction. A high-quality selection of cars presented in a single owner sale, despite the fact that most of the high value cars had reserves, all performed well (and in some cases exceptionally well!). Surely a sign that there is renewed strength in the collectible Porsche market. For us, however, there is one true great which was missing from the auction, the Carrera GT, currently undervalued again and surely due another price jump when now compared to the hybrid 918 which followed. https://lnkd.in/epPYmyvu

The automotive world was abuzz as a 1962 Ferrari 412 P Berlinetta fetched an incredible $30 million at Monterey Car Week. However, let's take a closer look at the broader picture. Despite this record-setting sale, overall auction results witnessed a cooling trend. Total sales and the sell-through rate both dipped compared to last year, signaling a potential shift in the classic car market. What factors do you think are contributing to this market shift? #robbreport #luxury #classiccars #montereycarweek #ferrari
