    Before using the AU822 Important Notices 1. Please be reminded that before you start up the system for the device for the first time, please connect the device to the PC through the USB cable and turn the ON/OFF switch to the “ON” position to charge the internal battery.

    Battery indicator The battery indicator on the right corner of the display tells you the battery status. Icon Description The player battery is fully-charged. The icon gradually loses its shade as you use the player. The player battery has low power and needs to be recharged. A LOW POWER! warning appears on the LCD display when the player has very low battery power.

    Section 2: Using the AU822 Player Playing music 12.1 To play music/audio files: 1. Connect the earphone plug to the earphone jack. 2. Press to put the player in Music mode. 3. Press to play the first music/audio file. 4. Press to play the previous music/audio file.

    13.1.3 Selecting the audio/video files to convert To convert audio/video files to AMV: 1. Launch the AMV Converter Tool 2. Click after the Input File field. 3. Locate the audio/video files, then click on the Files of type field to select the correct file format.

    5. Information on the audio/video file including the file path, state and time span appears in the AMV Converter Tool window. Refer to the illustration below. 13.1.4 Playing the selected the audio or video file The AMV Converter Tool allows you to playback the selected audio or video file depending on the installed CODEC.

    NOTE • When the audio/video file status changes to Success, the system has an available CODEC for that particular file type. You can now proceed to the converting process. • It is recommended that you play the selected audio/video file before conversion to confirm playback capability.
  • Page 19 Right click on an audio/video file, then click on Select from the pop-up menu. 2. To delete the audio/video file from the list, select the audio/video files you want to remove, right-click on the file, then select Delete from the pop-up menu.

  • Page 21 To change the audio/video file properties: Select one or more audio/video file(s) from the list, then click Select one or more audio/video file(s) from the list, right-click, then select Setting from the pop-up menu. The Property setting window appears. To adjust the video segment intercept: You can choose which part of the video file you want to convert to AMV using the video segment intercept.
  • Page 22 4. Click OK when finished to return to the AMV Converter Tool window. NOTE The whole video file is converted to AMV if you don’t want to use the video segment intercept feature. 5. Check the start and end time of the video file from the AMV Converter Tool window.
  • Page 23 8. After you confirm the starting and ending time of the intercepted video segment, click Selection. The time length is displayed in the processing time bar. The tool converts only the intercepted part of the video file. Refer to the image below. As shown in the image, the video file has been intercepted for seconds: 00:02:12 to 00:02:20.

    Privacy Space function The Privacy Space function allows you to partition the player drive into two. You may encrypt one of the partitions with a password to keep your private files and data confidential. The bundled accessory tool helps you divide the USB drive into two partitions by random scale.
