As a kid this book was my Everest. I’d never seen a book so big, the cover always freaked me out and of course there was the mini-series with Tim Curry. Every time I went to the library I would read the first few pages until I was allowed to borrow it. It took me three renewals and multiple nightmares, but I did it. There is a reason why Pennywise is one of the great monsters: he’s childhood fear personified and what we try to forget as we get older, yet never goes away.
