Grettislaug #3 Photograph - Limited Edition of 10

This image is part of my 'Grettislaug' series, created on residency in Iceland. The title marks the eponymous natural hot spring in the country’s northern region, and the project results from a day spent shooting with Elle, a model from Berlin. The Iceland residency was intended to help me climb out of my photographic comfort zone: rather than incorporating natural imagery with collage and overlaying techniques, I captured Elle as she plunged into the 30-degree waters during the height of winter, amidst a backdrop of rough Icelandic highlands. Kodak Portra 400 film, shot here on 35mm format, naturally favours the hues of blue and green, presenting images straight from the camera that savour the organic tonal range and colour palette of the Icelandic surroundings. Limited edition #2 of 10 Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag with a 1" float border. Prints are hand signed, numbered, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
