AS MUCH as I love getting ready, I never spend more than 15 minutes doing my makeup and often reach for beauty products I can slap on in a rush.

It's no surprise that speedy beauty has become more popular, with brands launching multi-tasking formulas that can be used as eyeshadow or blush and applied with a simple swipe; no brushes required.

Clean beauty brand PÜR Cosmetics has just launched its new Effortless, Everyday Beauty collection which consists of creamy eyeshadows and bronzing sticks that are perfect for getting that fresh, spring glow in a pinch.

I’m a huge fan of the sunkissed makeup look and use blusher and bronzer daily, so I was keen to see whether PÜR Cosmetics would meet my high requirements.

So I replaced my everyday makeup with PÜR’s creamy eyeshadow and multi-tasking sticks and tested them out.

Read on to discover my thoughts and to see whether I’d continue using these products.

  • Can be blended with fingers or brush
  • Solid ingredient list

Silky Tint Creamy Multitasking Stick With Peptides, $26

Pros: Glides on skin, fast application, blends easily, flattering shades, buildable, can contour specific areas, layers over cream products well, very natural finish

Cons: Limited shade range, blush had lighter finish than expected, can fade during the day

Rating: 4.5/5

I’m no stranger to using stick formulas in makeup (I have several that I use in my daily routine) so I had high standards for PÜR’s version.

Available in four shades, the Silky Tint Creamy Multitasking Stick can be used across the face to give a glow and I tested out Bronze Babe, the bronzing shade, and Coral Cosmo, a coral pink blush shade.

First of all, the sticks definitely get marks for being super easy to use, as you simply twist and apply them directly on the face.

With a formula that’s infused with peptides, the sticks glided on the skin beautifully and felt very smooth.

I swiped the bronzer across my cheekbones and was worried that I might have applied too much, but it blended out to a very natural-looking finish.

You can use a brush or your fingertips to blend, but I felt that using my fingers allowed me to control the pigmentation on my face, especially since I like a deep wash of color.

It layers well over foundation, concealer, and bare skin with moisturizer, and it's also buildable so you can intensify the shade.

Its stick formula also makes it very easy to contour the face with and I used it across the bridge of my nose and on my forehead to help add some definition.

I dotted the blush over the bronzer and it layered well, although I did think that the pigmentation wasn’t as strong as the bronzer and I had to build it up a bit.

The blush wasn’t a stand-out for me, but it added a fresh pop of color to the face.

Both products had decent staying power, and lasted through sunny and windy conditions, although there was some fading around the five-hour mark.

Unfortunately, there are only four shades currently available so it won’t suit everyone’s skin tone and the finish might be a bit too subtle for some, but personally, I enjoyed using the products and the fact that it took under a minute to apply is probably why I’ll continue to use them.

On Point Tint Creamy Eyeshadow & Primer With Peptides, $24

Pros: Beautiful shades, easy application, blends easily, ideal for travel, layers over powder products

Cons: Creases, lacks staying power, can be very glittery, not as pigmented as expected

Rating: 3.5/5

I love a light wash of color over the eyes and was intrigued to try out Pur’s creamy eyeshadows.

Designed with a doe-foot applicator, you just swipe it directly on the lids and then, like the stick, blend out with a brush or your fingers.

While there are only four shades, they are all absolutely beautiful and are designed to be flattering on most skin tones.

I tested Suede, which is a taupe shade, and Silk, which is a coppery color and upon my first swatch, both were a lot more glittery than expected.

However, when I applied it to my eyelids, it looked sheer and very subtle, so I added a second layer for a stronger wash of color.

It’s a cream-to-powder formula containing peptides and it didn’t irritate my sensitive eyes, although some of it got on my eyelashes, making it a bit messier than I would’ve liked.

My ultimate test for any cream eyeshadow is to see if it creases without any primer. Unfortunately, these didn’t pass that test and both shades creased on my bare lids after a couple hours.

But they did work great as primers and also looked beautiful when layered over powdery shadows; I wore Silk when out at dinner and thought it looked nice when blended with a matte brown color.

While the shadows won’t be replacing any of my everyday staples, I did enjoy using them and will take them with me when I travel as a primer or an extra bit of glitter on top of my eyes.

Pur cosmetics review: final verdict

With skincare-infused formulas, Pur cosmetics is a great option for those who enjoy more natural-looking makeup or have sensitive skin.

The products were very easy to apply and also compact, making them great additions to any travel bag.

Highlights for me were the Silky Tint Creamy Stick in Bronze Babe, and I’ve been wearing it almost every time I go out as I find it so flattering on my skin tone.

Overall, if you’re looking for easy, glowy makeup you can apply on the go and that feels good on the skin, I'd be happy to tell you to pick PÜR Cosmetics.
