In a move that nobody saw coming, reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell will reportedly stay in LA but cross fences to the Los Angeles Lakers. Harrell's now-former Los Angeles Clippers teammate Patrick Beverley did not hide his frustration upon hearing the surprising development.

Bev was likely throwing expletives when he read the news, so he settled with the facepalm and cursing emoji to express his disbelief online.

Patrick Beverley, of course, joined millions of pundits and fans bewildered by the news considering that Montrezl Harrell was initially not even on the Lakers' radar. For what it's worth though, the 2020 champions are indeed in the market for a big after Dwight Howard spurned them for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Lakers brass once again worked its magic away from the public eye and swooped in for the highly touted 26-year-old bruiser on the first day of free agency.

Harrell, on the other hand, was already expected to leave the Clippers to chase a big payday and become the main man somewhere else. Beverley, however, couldn't believe that he chose to go with the Clips' bitter crosstown rivals.

The Louisville standout was initially rumored to go to the Suns, but Phoenix's acquisition of Chris Paul likely hindered their cap room. Harrell was also heavily linked to the Charlotte Hornets since they could offer him a massive deal. Harrell's exact deal with the Lakers remains unclear at the moment, but he likely agreed to take a pay cut for a chance to help the Purple and Gold in their bid to repeat next season.
