Savu Sauna

This cozy log cabin was originally a Finnish smoke (savu) sauna. It now has a double bed and can be heated with a Norwegian Jotul wood-burning stove or electric heat. Because at one time, this former sauna was the only building on the farm where hot water was readily available, mothers-to-be would go there with the local midwife when it was time to give birth. According to legend, 19 children were born in this former sauna! Bathroom facilities are in the lodge. (Tier 1)
